Pinterest is fast becoming one of the best marketing channels for anyone trying to sell something. That includes real estate.

Pinterest users are more likely to be in a shopping mindset when they are on the platform and tend to have a higher income on average than the typical online consumer.

This has created a big opportunity for realtors looking to acquire new customers and build their brand in a region. Viraltag invited Pinterest consultant Anna Vanlandingham to share her strategies to use the social bookmarking site to achieve real results for real estate businesses.

In the webinar Anna walked through some steps to follow to deliver results from Pinterest.

1. Create your plan of action. This includes doing your homework to create your Pinterest profile and select the right keywords. She recommends researching keywords that perform well in your target category. She describes how to identify these keywords in our recent Mapping Your Pinterest Strategy webinar.

2. Know your goal. Don’t waste time simply pinning pictures of the houses you have for sale, she said. The goal should be to drive people to click through to your website. That is where you can engage them through a signup form. With that in mind, use Pinterest to share content that will entice people to click.

3. Know Your Niche. Who are you trying to reach? In the webinar Anna shared examples of people a realtor might want to target and how that distinction will impact the kind of content they share on Pinterest.

4. Curator of Information or Alliance? Anna shared two unique approaches she recommends for realtors to build a following on Pinterest.
